After three years in the newly-built premises, the Sables primary school is now thriving and at full capacity with 215 pupils from Grade 1 to 7, and 20 former street boys being looked after in the shelter. The only free school in Kabwe, looking after the poorest children from the local townships of Makalulu, Katonda and beyond, Zamda feeds, clothes and cares for the children as well as providing basic education and an after-school activities programme.
The immediate challenge now is to cater for the children who will start to graduate from Sables in early 2018. The Zamda Charity Ball 2018 is the beginning of the fundraising response to this next challenge.
Promising to be a great night of entertainment, a 4-course meal, live music and dancing is in store, with some cultural and Cupid surprises thrown in for good measure.
So get on to your friends & family and see if you can get a group to come along on the evening of Saturday February 17th 2018 for a great night and to directly support a wonderful direct-aid programme in Kabwe, Zambia.
